Disney Blog Hop: Shining a Spotlight

Welcome and thank you for joining me from the Disney Blog Hop hosted by Babes in Disneyland! I really enjoy linking up and reading all the other wonderful posts by some great bloggers! Don't forget to click back and check them all out!

This weeks theme is Shining a Spotlight! I think this is a wonderful theme and am so excited to be a part of it. When I first read the theme for this week and started thinking, I knew I wanted to do something special. I wanted to let the bloggers that have motivated me, helped me, and supported me know how wonderful they really are. Without the support of other bloggers, I am not sure I would have made it past my first month blogging.

There are two blogs who I have followed for a while and who have been a part of my process in blogging. I would like to shine a spotlight on them in my post this week and show them how thankful I am for their support!

A Disney Mom's Thoughts
Beth from A Disney Mom's Thoughts was one of the first Disney blogs that I started following and reading. She has such great ideas and tips. I just knew from her writing that she was an amazing person! Then, I found out she is from Alabama as well and that is even better - even if she is an Auburn fan :) I have learned so much from Beth from her comments and reading her posts. Another thing that I love about Beth is her obvious passion for God and the youth at her church. Her love and passion truly shine when she writes about them in her posts! Thank you Beth!

DisneyBird
The first time I read DisneyBird's blog I instantly felt like I was reading words of a friend. I can tell that we have a lot in common and like a lot of the same things. Since Bird is a newcomer to the blog world, as I am, I felt drawn to her blog knowing she knew how I felt. I can always count on a comment from Bird and that makes me feel good to know that someone is always out there - reading what I write. I truly enjoy reading Bird's blog - she has such fantastic ideas and knows just how to word everything. Her blog has grown so much in the few months that I have been reading and it's wonderful to see! Thank you Bird!

I want to thank not only these two wonderful bloggers, but everyone in the Disney blogging community for your support! I am truly honored and glad to be a part of a group that is so wonderful, supportive and creative! Thank you all!!

Top Ten Tuesday

It's time for another Top Ten Tuesday post, hosted by oh, Amanda! I love linking up and reading all the other great Top Ten posts. Don't forget to hop over and check them all out!!

This week I wanted to share with you my top ten shows at Disney World! There are so many wonderful shows to see, but these are my favorites. There is something special and unique about each one.

10. Turtle Talk with Crush - My son loved this show! This show is a lot of fun for the younger crowd. There is even an opportunity for you to ask Crush a question!

9. Circle of Life - I think this is the one show on my list that most people overlook the easiest. We actually almost did! It's located at Epcot in the Land Pavilion on the top floor. The show features Simba, Timon and Pumbaa, but is not just an animated film - it also includes important information regarding the environment and what we can do to protect our planet.

8. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth - This is a wonderful show and truly breathtaking! The fireworks along with the fire and water/light show is magnificent. We found a great place to watch it on our last trip - on the outside patio at La Cantina de San Angel. Just grab your food about an hour before and find a spot. You get to eat your dinner and then don't have to worry about fighting the crowd for a spot to watch the show!

7. Hall of Presidents - Most people think this is a great show to head into when it's hot out and you are looking for a rest - and that is true. However, this show is so much more than a great place to take a nap! It has so much history and information to give - I truly enjoyed this show, as did my husband. In fact, this is already one of his requests - that we see this on our next trip!

6. Fantasmic - This show is definitely a must-see for first time visitors. We loved the water and light show that goes along with this show. I also loved seeing all the characters come out at the end on the boat - it was great to see them all together!!

5. Dream-Along with Mickey - I think a lot of people don't ever take the time to stop and watch this show, but they definitely should. The dancing and fun in this show is great! I love how it shows that good can beat out evil :)

4. Mickey's PhilharMagic - I wasn't sure what to expect of this show the first time we saw it. I am not huge on 3D, but I loved it! I love how they incorporated scenes from other movies into it and how Donald goes flying out at the end :)

3. Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor - If you have seen the movie, you know this is definitely going to be a great show. It's focused on making everyone laugh and they definitely succeed! There is even a chance for your joke to be read during the show - just text it in. If you are like to have fun and be made fun of . . . make sure to sit close to a light!

2. Festival of the Lion King - This is such an awesome show! There is so much going on and it's very high energy. My favorite part is the monkeys - they are incredible!!

1. Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage - This is my favorite of all the shows at Disney World, probably because Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie. I just love the story and the show is magnificent! The costumes are bright and the choreography is fun! It really makes the story come to life!!

What is your favorite show at Disney World?

I am also linking up today with the Tiggerific Tuesday Blog Hop . . .or Bounce! Go and check out the other great posts from today!!

Five on Friday

Last week I told you the top five Disney Resorts that I would love to stay at. If you missed out on that post, you can catch it here.

This week I wanted to share with you the top five characters that I would love to meet in the parks!

5. White Rabbit - I am not a huge fan of Alice & Wonderland, but I would love to meet the White Rabbit. I think he is so funny the way he is always rushing around talking about being late. I think I can relate because sometimes it feels as though I am like that! LOL :)

4. Pinocchio & Gepetto - I have always liked this movie and would love to meet both of them together somehow. I am not even sure if you can meet Gepetto in the parks or anywhere. I have seen him in one of the parades at the Magic Kingdom, but haven't seen either one of them out in the parks to meet.

3. Peter Pan - My son currently loves Peter Pan and is obsessed with him and Captain Hook. I have heard that he is hard to find in the parks, but I *think* I know somewhere to meet him and am planning on possibly doing that on our next trip!

2. The Fairy Godmother - I think she is just so wonderful!! I love her blue and pink dress - it makes her look even more magical than she already is! I know you can meet her somewhere in the Magic Kingdom, but I'm not sure where.

Sorry - she is kind of small in this picture :)

1. Mary Poppins - She is my favorite character and I have not seen her in either of our Disney trips! I know she can be seen at the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare breakfast, and I do plan on eating there on our next trip just for her - but I would love to see her out in the parks. Afterall, she is "practically perfect in every way"!

What characters are you looking forward to meeting? Is there one character that you are always on the hunt for?

Disney Blog Hop: Integrity

Welcome and thank you for hopping over from the Disney Blog Hop hosted by Babes in Disneyland!

This week's topic is Integrity. I think this is so important to discuss and talk about and am excited to join in on the discussion this week! Integrity is something that everyone should have and always be thinking about when you are writing for your blog or other blogs.

When I am think about the word "integrity" a few things come to mind: honest, truthful, correct. I believe that all these things together make up integrity, plus other things as well.

Earlier in the week, Lisa from Babes in Disneyland posted about The Three Disneyland Moms' Pledge. This is basically a pledge that any Disney blogger can be a part of that says you will use integrity and honesty in your Disney blog. I am proud to be a Disney blogger and was excited to take the pledge.

Since I am very new, not only to blogging, but to all things Disney, I take this pledge very seriously. One of the first things I thought about when I decided to start my Disney blog was making sure that I stay true to me. I don't know everything about everything at Disney - I am still learning. But that is part of why I wanted to write this blog - so that I can learn and share that with all of you! I am not here to blog about rumors, possibilities or even news. I am here to show you my journey with Disney and my experiences. I know that the integrity of my blog is important to me because it shows all of you what I am all about. I want to make sure everything I write about here is honest and truthful because that is how I am!

Be a friend to other Disney bloggers and fans, for we are part of a community, not a competition.

This is my favorite part of the pledge! I think this is so important because we should all be there to support and encourage each other. We all share a common interest: our love for Disney! I truly see all of you as friends and not competition. I think each of us has something different to bring to the table and not everybody is exactly alike. Without several of you always posting a comment or writing an encouraging word, I might not have continued on my blogging journey! I try to do the same and comment/encourage as much as I can on each of your blogs as well. As the saying goes: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

If you would like to take The Three Disneyland Moms' Pledge, just go here and check it out! I think it's so wonderful and I am so proud to be a part of it!! Thank you to Lisa, Marcy and Suz for putting this together for all of us!
