Five on Friday

Last week I listed the top five countries in Epcot's World Showcase that I wanted to explore a little further. If you missed out on that post - you can check it out here.

This week I am going to write about the top five classic Disney movies that I want them to bring out of the vault so I can purchase them! I like the idea of the Disney vault, it makes it more meaningful to own the movies that we do, but I get so frustrated when I can't just run out and buy or order online the movies that I want! So here's hoping that these movies will be released sometime soon from the vault!

5. Peter Pan - Right now we actually have this DVD in our player, but it's from Netflix. My son is currently obsessed with it and loves to play that he is Captain Hook (for some reason he is on a villain kick!). Since I am unsure when they will release this, I am contemplating buying it from Netflix so I don't have to return it :)

4. The Little Mermaid - This is one of my sister's favorite movies. We used to watch it all the time when we were younger. I would love to have it on DVD so I could share it with my son - I think he would enjoy it!

3. Aladdin - I love this movie! It's so colorful and full of adventure. I think my son would like to watch this one, so I am hoping that it comes out of the vault sometime!

2. Dumbo - I am so excited to hear that Dumbo is coming out of the vault soon! I cannot wait to get the movie and share it with my son. I know he is going to love it! I remember watching this so many times when I was a kid :)

1. Cinderella - Such a classic Disney movie - I really hope they release it from the vault sometime so I can add it to my collection. I absolutely love this movie as it was one of the first Disney VHS we ever owned when I was younger. It is such a wonderful story. My son has already seen this on VHS, but I am looking forward to adding it to our collection at home!

Five on Friday

Last week I wrote about the top five things I would like to do that are outside of the Disney parks. If you missed out, you can catch up here.

This week I wanted to list the top five countries in Epcot that I would like to explore on our next trip. Epcot has always held a great appeal to me because of the World Showcase. I like to travel, and although I haven't traveled out of the country much, I dream of doing it one day. There are so many beautiful places in the world that I would like to see and visit. The World Showcase allows me to do that in just a simple trip to Disney! These are the countries I would most like to explore more in Epcot:

5. Mexico - I would love to visit this pavilion and check out the artifacts and Mexican history that they have. We have not had the pleasure of checking out this pavilion to it's fullest. I think that the Gran Fiesta Tour ride would be fun to go on as well! Plus, you can't go to Mexico and not get a margarita - so I would have to check out La Cava del Tequila and get something to quench my thirst while listening to Mariachi Cobre!

4. Morocco - I would like to check out all the beautiful mosaics in this pavilion. I also would like to check out the Belly Dancers in the Restaurant Marrakesh - I've always loved how they move, wishing I could move like that too! LOL :) Plus, I am sure I could do plenty of shopping here too!

3. France - I definitely want to eat at Le Chefs de France one day and get to meet Remy! I know the food would be delicious. I would also like to watch the movie Impressions de France - to be able to see more of the country itself. And I know they would have some wonderful smelling perfume that I could try out!

2. Japan - There are many things I want to check out in the fabulous pavilion. The candy lady for one - I have heard that her works of art are amazing! We enjoy eating at our local Japanese restaurants, so I'm sure we would like Teppan Edo. It would be wonderful to enjoy some music from the Japanese taiko drummers and of course I want to check out Pick-a-Pearl and get a beautiful necklace made!

1. Italy - This is the pavilion that I am most fascinated with. If I could pick only one country to travel to - it would be Italy! I want to try out both of the restaurants, as well as the bakeries for something yummy and sweet. I would like to study the architecture more and see the beautiful buildings that they created. And I am sure I could find some beautiful leather item to bring home :)

Five on Friday

Last week on Five on Friday I posted the top five characters I would like to meet in the parks. If you missed out on that post, you can catch up here.

This week I want to post the top five things I would like to do that are outside of the parks! This can be an activity, show or whatever!

5. Chip & Dale's Campfire Singalong - I know my son would love this! In fact, we would all enjoy it. Chip & Dale are so funny and who doesn't love smores? I know our family does! This would be a perfect ending to a great day - just to sit around the fire, eating smores, playing with Chip & Dale and having a fun time!

4. Fishing Excursion - I am not a huge fan of fishing, but my husband is! I think this would be a fun thing to do for us both to spend some time together and even if I didn't want to fish, I could bring my Kindle and enjoy our special time just relaxing and knowing we are both having a great time!

3. Mini-Golf - We love playing Putt Putt (as we call it in the South). We always play each time we go to the beach, but I would love to do it at Disney! I'm sure it would be so much fun and I would love to see the great theme and decorations they have - I know they are fabulous!

2. Spa Experience - What woman wouldn't put this on their list? I have never had a professional massage, facial, or anything. I would love to have it all and just be able to spend a day relaxing and being completely pampered.

1. Cirque du Soleil - La Nouba - I have always wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show and Disney would be the perfect place! I think it would be amazing to watch and see what all they can do. I really hope we get to do this soon!

This week I wanted to share with you the top five characters that I would love to meet in the parks!

5. White Rabbit - I am not a huge fan of Alice & Wonderland, but I would love to meet the White Rabbit. I think he is so funny the way he is always rushing around talking about being late. I think I can relate because sometimes it feels as though I am like that! LOL :)

4. Pinocchio & Gepetto - I have always liked this movie and would love to meet both of them together somehow. I am not even sure if you can meet Gepetto in the parks or anywhere. I have seen him in one of the parades at the Magic Kingdom, but haven't seen either one of them out in the parks to meet.

3. Peter Pan - My son currently loves Peter Pan and is obsessed with him and Captain Hook. I have heard that he is hard to find in the parks, but I *think* I know somewhere to meet him and am planning on possibly doing that on our next trip!

2. The Fairy Godmother - I think she is just so wonderful!! I love her blue and pink dress - it makes her look even more magical than she already is! I know you can meet her somewhere in the Magic Kingdom, but I'm not sure where.

1. Mary Poppins - She is my favorite character and I have not seen her in either of our Disney trips! I know she can be seen at the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare breakfast, and I do plan on eating there on our next trip just for her - but I would love to see her out in the parks. Afterall, she is "practically perfect in every way"!

Five on Friday

Last week I listed the top five Signature Restaurants that I wanted to try out in Disney World. If you missed out on the post, you can catch up here!

This week I am going to list the top five Disney Resorts where I would like to stay. Even though we have been to Disney World twice, we have never stayed on site. Our next trip will be the first time staying at a Disney Resort and I am really excited about it! This list is sort of a "dream" list - the resorts that I would love to stay at if money was no object :)

5. The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort - I love the thought of these! I am not a "camping girl" by any means, but I think this would be as close as I could get! I would also love to have a full kitchen, which would help us save with our food budget. Of course, if we stayed here, we would have to rent a golf cart to get around :)

4. Contemporary Resort - I would love to get a Magic Kingdom Fireworks room here! Would it not be awesome to be able to relax in your room and have a perfect view of Wishes, while not having to sit on the hard concrete for an hour with a bunch of pushy, exhausted people?!

Love how the monorail goes right through the resort!

3. Grand Floridian Resort and Spa - Of course, I think this is on everybody's dream list! It would be wonderful to be able to stay here - the epitome of luxury for a Disney vacation for sure!

2. Animal Kingdom Lodge - A Savannah view room would be awesome! I would be able to get up early, sit out on the balcony with a cup of coffee and just enjoy watching all the animals wake up and start their day!

1. Beach Club Resort - This is my husband's and mine top resort. My husband would love to stay here (along with our son) for SAB. It just looks like it would be a fantastic pool and so much fun! I don't think they would ever get out of the water. I would love to stay here because of how close it is to Epcot. While my fam is spending time in the water - I could walk on over to World Showcase and spend my time in all the different countries! It would be the perfect Disney vacation for us :)

Five on Friday

In my Five on Friday post last week, I listed my top five snacks I was looking forward to eating on our next trip to Disney World. If you missed out on the post, you can catch up here.

This week I thought I would post the top five Signature restaurants that I am most looking forward to trying out. My hubby and I are hoping to be able to make it down to Disney for our 10th anniversary (not until 2015) just the two of us, and if we do, we will definitely be checking out these places!

5. California Grill - I think I would like to try this one mostly for the view of the Magic Kingdom! I think it would be so wonderful and romantic (not to mention magical!) to have dinner here overlooking the Magic Kingdom while Wishes were going off!!

4. Le Cellier Steakhouse - I have heard so much about this delicious place - especially the cheddar cheese soup and "Moose" dessert. I would love to try this out soon - although if we are going as a family, it would definitely be for lunch when it's only 1 TS credit!

3. Artist Point - I think my husband would like this restaurant the most out of all the Signature restaurants. The menu sounds delicious and I love that it changes seasonally!

2. Flying Fish Cafe - This restaurant just sounds like so much fun! Who wouldn't want to have your food made right in front of you? I would love this for the yummy food and the chef interaction for sure!

1. Victoria & Albert's - I think this is a given. If you are talking about the best place to have a romantic meal at Disney, this is the place everybody thinks about. I would love to be able to eat at the Chef's Table here one time - it would be a dream!

Five on Friday

Last week I posted the top five restaurants that I am looking forward to trying out on our next trip to Disney World! If you missed out on the post, you can catch up here.

This week I decided to post the top five snacks that I am looking forward to trying out. We have not eaten very much in Disney World since we stayed off property for our last two trips. Therefore, I have not been able to try many of the delicious things Disney has to offer. I am looking forward to our next trip so I can immerse myself in the Disney food and snacks!

5. Mickey Ice Cream Bar - This one has to make the list, just because it's a classic. What would be better than sitting close to Cinderella's Castle and eating a Mickey Ice Cream bar with my family? Nothing :)

4. Beignets - These are one of the main reasons I am considering staying at Port Orleans French Quarter for our next trip. I have always wanted to go to New Orleans and eat some Beignets and I have heard that these are so fantastic - I have to try them out!

3. Starring Rolls cupcake - Any cupcake!! I am a huge cupcake fan and cannot wait to try one of these out. I won't be able to decide which one to try until I get there, and even then I'm sure I will have a hard time picking!

2. Anything from Karamelle-Kuche - I am a big fan of caramel - but put it with chocolate and I am in love! I cannot wait to try out this new shop in Germany and will probably end up spending several of my snack credits here!

1. Dole Whip - I know it - how can I call myself a Disney fan and not have tried one of these, right? Crazy! But our next trip I will definitely be trying this out. My husband does not like pineapple, so it will just be me and my son eating it, but I am looking forward to it! Now all I have to do is decide whether I want to do the traditional Dole Whip or the Dole Whip float?

Five on Friday

This week I thought I would start a new topic for Five on Friday. I have been talking a lot about the rides that I have done and haven't done, but this week I am going to talk about food!

There are so many different restaurants in Disney World, it would be impossible to eat at them all in one trip. For our last 2 trips we have stayed in a condo off property that had a kitchen and we used it a lot, therefore, we did not get to experience many of the great restaurants. The only table service restaurants we have eaten at are Chef Mickey's (twice for my little one's birthday!), The Crystal Palace and Whispering Canyon Cafe. On our next trip this will drastically change as we will be on the Dining Plan!

Here is a list of the top five table service restaurants I am most looking forward to trying out on our next trip as a family!

5. 'Ohana - we will be trying this out for dinner. I like the idea of the food being served family style and the food selection sounds delicious! I have also heard that they have games and fun activities throughout the night that Nicholas would love to be a part of!

4. Cape May Cafe - we will be eating here for breakfast on the morning we go to Epcot. I thought this would be a fun character breakfast to do since we are not planning on doing Chef Mickey's this year. Also, it's my husband's dream to stay at the Beach Club one day, so this will give us a little taste of that!

3. Via Napoli - I love Italian food! If there was one place I wanted to go before I died, it would be Italy. There is just something about the country, the art, the food that appeals to me. I haven't been able to spend a lot of time here at the World Showcase, so I am hoping on this trip I will be able to!

2. Supercalifragilistic Breakfast @ 1900 Fare Park - I am most excited about this one and I scheduled it mainly for me! I plan on scheduling this for the morning that we leave Disney. I thought this would be a great way to leave and definitely get us in the planning mode for the trip home! Mary Poppins is probably my favorite character and this way I will be guaranteed to meet her! Plus, I heard the Mad Hatter is so much fun and I think Nicholas would enjoy that!

1. Donald's Safari Breakfast @ Tusker House - I am very excited about this one! I learned a wonderful trick from Delightfully Disney to schedule your breakfast as early as possible, so you are able to get in, have breakfast and then go straight to the Safari and be one of the first ones! We really enjoy our time at the Animal Kingdom, but are never able to fit everything in we want to, so hopefully using this strategy, we will be able to get everything done!

Last week I gave you my top five attractions/rides that I want to do, but haven't done yet at Epcot. If you missed out, you can catch up here.

This week I am moving on to the Magic Kingdom. I believe this one will be the hardest as there are so many great rides/attractions that we have not been able to do yet!

5. Peter Pan's Flight - I think my son would really enjoy this ride! He has recently seen Peter Pan and loves it! I have heard this is a great ride for children and would love to experience it.

4. The Haunted Mansion - I am not really sure what this ride is about inside, but I do believe I would enjoy it. Our next trip will be in September 2012 and we will be going to MNSSHP, I would love to do this ride on that night!

3. Pirates of the Caribbean - Even though I have still not seen all these movies, I have heard great things about this ride. I think it would be fun to watch all the movies as a countdown to our trip and then ride the ride when we get there to complete it!

2. Tom Sawyer Island - This is something that I didn't realize was there on our last two trips. I know my son would love riding the ferry over to the island and have a blast running around and playing! I have also heard of something fun to do while you are there involving paint brushes!

1. Town Square Theater - This opened not long after our last trip to Disney, so we didn't get to visit. I can't wait to go and see Mickey and Minnie together - we have not done this before and it will be great to have a picture with both of them!

Five on Friday

In the last part of the series I talked about the top Five things that I want to do, but haven't done yet at Hollywood Studios. If you missed out, you can catch up here.

This week I am moving on to Epcot. I love Epcot, but there are several things I haven't had a chance to do yet, that I am looking forward to! It always seems everybody wants to rush through thinking there isn't much to Epcot and it's boring - but to me it's so much fun! There is more to do in a day, if you really go through and take your time.

5. Test Track - I know most people would think we are crazy for never doing this, but we haven't! This would actually be something that my husband and son (when he is tall enough) will enjoy doing!

4. Reflections of China - I think this would be really neat to see. I enjoy learning about different cultures and their history so this would be right up my alley!

3. The American Adventure - I have heard a lot of good things about this! On our last trip we were going to go, but got distracted by something else instead. I think this would be enjoyable for our family.

2. Gran Fiesta Tour starring the Three Caballeros - we love Donald Duck and think he is hilarious in our family. I think we would enjoy this boat ride, as we like It's a Small World.

1. National Treasures - I didn't even realize this was here until I began reading more about Epcot. I would love to see this exhibit as I love any type of artifacts involving history.

Five on Friday

Last week I started a new series of the Top 5 rides/attractions that I want to do at each park, but haven't done yet. I started out at Animal Kingdom, since it's one of our top parks! If you missed out, you can catch up here.

This week we are going to move onto Hollywood Studios. This is probably one of our least favorite parks in general, although there is a lot of rides/attractions that we really enjoy here.

5. Muppet*Vision 3-D - I grew up watching the Muppets and loved them. Unfortunately, my son doesn't have a clue as to who they are! I would love to take him to this and show him what they are all about and I think he would really enjoy it!

4. Studio Backlot Tour - I think this would be so neat to see. I really enjoy looking behind the scenes to see how things work and are done so I would really enjoy this. I've heard this isn't a spectacular ride, but I think it's something that should be done at least once.

3. The American Idol Experience - We are American Idol fans. My husband and I have watched most of the seasons, although there were several in there that didn't catch our attention. We are from the same state/area as several of the contestants (Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice) and it's always neat to see if anyone else from Alabama will make it! I think this would be a neat experience for our family.

2. The American Film Institute Showcase - I LOVE looking at props and costumes from movies and this is perfect for me. I think it's so neat to see the costumes that were in movies up close and personal to see all the touches on them! Plus, my son is currently obsessed with Villains/Bad guys so he would like that too!

1. Star Tours - with the reopening of Star Tours not too long ago, I have heard many a great things about this ride. I have never really gotten into Star Wars that much, nor seen the newest movies, but did enjoy the first ones as a teen. I think this would be a neat ride and can't wait to check it out!

Last week I finished all of the parks and my top five ride/attractions at each park, ending with Magic Kingdom. If you missed the post you can catch up here.

This week I am going to start a new series of posts. I am going to do the top five rides/attractions that I want to do at each park that I haven't done before. Each of these rides/attractions will be something I haven't done before, but really want to! I think we are going to start back at the beginning with Animal Kingdom!

5. Cretaceous Trails - I think this would be interesting for our son to see. He likes dinosaurs (although not obsessed with them) so he would probably enjoy this. I am always up for learning new things and think this would be enjoyable for our family.

4. Discovery Island Trails - I'm not really sure where this is located in the park, but I know that we would enjoy this. The one thing I really like about AK is that you can just relax and walk around leisurely and enjoy all kinds of things! This would be one of the things we would enjoy doing.

3. Flights of Wonder - I am sure that we will enjoy this show. Last year we watched a small show in Rafiki's Planet Watch and we all really liked it. I don't think we ever made it to Asia in AK, so that is why we have never seen this show.

2. Camp Minnie-Mickey Greeting Trails - I know, I know - how in the world have we not done this? I'm not really sure! We have seen FOTLK on both of our trips, so I know we were right by there! After the show on our first trip it was pouring down rain, so we ended up leaving the park right after. Our second trip we ended up heading out right where we came in, so we missed it. I definitely want to catch it on our next trip though and see all of them in their Safari gear!

1. Maharajah Jungle Trek - This one is definitely going to be on our top list of things to do next trip. My son LOVES Tigers and other animals, so I know he will really enjoy this. As with the Flights of Wonder show, we have never made it into Asia, so we have missed out on all those attractions.

Five on Friday

Epcot was the subject of last week's Five on Friday. If you missed out on the post, you can catch up here. I hope you are all enjoying these posts as I am having fun writing them!

This week we are going to wrap up the parks and my top five rides/attractions by going to the Magic Kingdom. I think for anyone, it would be hard to choose your top five rides/attractions here. There is just so much to do and see! For me, it's really hard. As many things as there are to do in the Magic Kingdom, there isn't much that we have been able to do or can't do. We don't ride the big thrill rides because I had back surgery last year and my hubby doesn't like them, so that takes out a lot of the top rides for most people.

Here are my top five rides/attractions for the Magic Kingdom:

5. "it's a small world" - Just a classic Disney ride. I know a lot of people think it's boring, but I love riding around in the boat and seeing all the sparkly dolls from around the world. I really enjoy the end and trying to figure out how to say "Goodbye" in all those languages!

4. Dumbo the Flying Elephant - This is another great classic ride - it's so much fun. The only trip I took to Disney World as a child was when I was in 2nd grade and one of the few things I remember from that trip is riding on Dumbo. I loved it and still do!

3. Mickey's PhilharMagic - This 3D show is really cool! On our last trip I didn't know what to expect from it since it was our first time seeing it, but I was happy we did. It's really funny to see what all Donald Duck goes through once he puts on Mickey's sorcerer hat! The special effects are fantastic and I can't wait to see it again!

2. Walt Disney World Railroad - Riding around the Magic Kingdom on this steam powered train is so much fun. It's a nice break if you have a little while to rest and relax. Or if you are wanting to get from one part of the park to another, just hop on and get there quickly! We really enjoy riding the train around at least once a trip!

1. Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor - This attraction is so much fun! I love the movie anyways, but this interactive attraction makes me love it even more. From the very beginning where Roz talks to you and you can text your own joke to be used, to the end when Roz kicks you out - it's a blast. I love how they pick one person and make fun of them the whole show and really get the crowd into it!

Five on Friday

Last week I told you about my top Five rides/attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you missed out on the post, you can catch up here.

This week we are continuing with rides/attractions but moving on to Epcot! This will only include rides/attractions in Future World - next week I will dive into World Showcase.

5. Innoventions - I think this is something that is often overlooked by others, but we love spending time in these pavilions. With a young child, there is so much for him to learn in these, from how to recycle more and waste less with "Don't Waste It!" and how to save money for something special in "The Great Piggy Bank Adventure". There are many others things to check out and learn more about - it is a must do for our family and a great place to spend some time if it's raining out!

4. Spaceship Earth - I really enjoyed this on our last trip. It was so neat to see how the written word has progressed throughout time. We especially enjoyed seeing "our future" and being able to email it to ourselves and others at the end of the ride!

3. Living with the Land - On our last trip we did this ride for the first time and I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would! It is a nice break to sit and ride for a little while and has some interesting information to soak up!

2. The Seas with Nemo and Friends - With a toddler along, this is a must see ride for us every time in Epcot. I really enjoy the way the ride moves along and it's always fun to sing along!

1. Soarin' - This is probably at the top of most people's list. I love this ride - it's so much fun to feel like you are floating so high in the air. I really enjoy the special effects that they put into it - like being able to smell the oranges when you go over the groves!

Five on Friday

This week I decided to continue with my top favorite rides/attractions, but this time we are moving to Hollywood Studios.

5. Disney Junior - Live on Stage! - This one mostly made the list for my son. He absolutely loved the show! Since they have re-done it and added Jake and the Neverland Pirates, I think it's fantastic. I had almost as much fun clapping and dancing along as my son did. This is something we will continue to see, at least until my little one is too old :(

It's the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Come inside, it's fun inside!

4. Voyage of the Little Mermaid - I really enjoyed this show! We missed out on it last time, but saw it the year before. I always liked The Little Mermaid, so it was neat to see it in a different way.

3. The Great Movie Ride - This was new to us on our last trip and was so much fun! I loved the CM interaction with the ride and really enjoyed seeing all the movie scenes. I think one of my favorite parts was in the line when I got to see the dress worn by Queen Susan from Chronicles of Narnia!

2. Toy Story Midway Mania - I think this is on the top of the list for almost everyone at DHS! It has such a fun queue and the ride is a blast! It's so much fun to see who can get the top score and win the best "prize" :)

1. Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage! - This is my favorite thing to do at Hollywood Studios. I absolutely love the story of Belle and the Beast and this show is fantastic! There is so much going on, colors, dancing, singing - it's a blast! The CM who played Belle did such a great job! I think this is a must-see every time we go there!

Five on Friday

I have decided to start a serious called "Five on Friday" that will have my top or bottom five things. This could be rides, food, restaurants, parades - anything! To start us off I am going to do my top five attraction/rides in Animal Kingdom. We always start our Disney vacation off at Animal Kingdom so I thought it best to start the series off here as well!

5. TriceraTop Spin - I have to put this on here because my son LOVES this ride. It's the same concept as Dumbo and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. There is just something about going around and around and up and down that my son really enjoys.

4. It's Tough to be a Bug - we love this show! It's funny and entertaining. We love that it is in 3D and has so many other fun parts to it, sounds, sights and smells! The best part is at the end though - don't get up and leave too early or you will miss it!

3. Conservation Station - this is something new that we did on our last trip to Disney.  I can't believe we didn't do it before - we had a great time. My favorite part was getting to talk to the veterinarian there. He was so nice and answered all our questions that we had. We already really enjoyed listening to one of the CM's talk about the different turtles and frogs that she takes care of, plus we got to see her in a live show with a beautiful Macaw! This is really a great place to learn more about animals and what all Disney does to help preserve the Earth!

2. Tree of Life - this one comes in a very close second. I love looking at the tree and trying to find all the different animals that are carved in it. It's just amazing to see what they can create! Of course, one of my Disney bucket list items is to find all the animals carved on the tree!

1.Kilimanjaro Safari - this is probably at the top of everybody's list when it comes to the Animal Kingdom. This ride is just so fantastic to see all different types of animals! I think what really makes this ride is the fantastic Cast Members who make is really fun and get into it and make it really seem like you are in the wild of Africa on a safari!
